A time will come when the house will be empty and the kids off to lead their own lives. I will probably be sad then, but for now, it's a fantasy worth entertaining on some days. ????

It will pay back once they have children. Then you can point at them and say "Ha Ha!". And it will be worth it. Not a parent but an uncle with a cute grand nephew.

It gets better! When they’re teenagers they will consume all your brain cells at *just* the moment you’re trying to go to bed but you won’t hear a thing out of them in the mornings
